For over 20 years, Glass Mountain Optics (GMO) has been a leader in the design, manufacture, installation, and repair of visual display systems and massive optics. From the prototype phase of a new application to retrofitting a legacy system, GMO can provide the solution your program requires.

GMO has extensive experience in fabricating components for visual simulation, imaging, IR equipment, testing instrumentation, holography, photographic applications and astronomical instrumentation. Engineering and design assistance is available for display systems, optical components and mechanical interfaces. With years of experience and innovation, GMO can fabricate components in slumped, generated or flat configurations.

Glass Mountain Optics was founded in Austin, Texas in 1983 by Larry Forrest and Carl Cowan. Originally founded to produce large optical components for a variety of industrial applications, GMO immediately discovered a market need in the simulation industry. Commencing with a contract for Singer Link (now a division of L3), GMO quickly established itself as a leader in quality flight simulation components and began supplying the majority of the leading simulation companies worldwide.

In 1993, Glass Mountain Optics began designing and manufacturing advanced display systems beginning with Wide Angle Collimated (WAC) display systems and continuing with cross-cockpit collimated displays (Crewview) and a variety of real image display systems.
